Here are a few things you need to know before you install Laguna:
•To install and upgrade Laguna, Administrator permissions is required.
•All Windows OS updates must complete, if OS updates are pending, the installation will fail. After an OS update, ensure that the PC is rebooted.
•Once installed, the software can be used by a local standard or local administrator user. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is not supported, a local account must be created.
•A password is not required to start Laguna once you have successfully signed onto the computer.
•Only one user can sign into the Laguna PC or server at a time.
•For mobile and phone app use, refer to remote access.
•A one time activation code is required to install and run Laguna, upgrades do not require re-activation. The activation code is unique to a PC or server. The activation code for your PC is available from Rain Master Tech Support.
•For Evolution DX2 controllers, if you are using Serial COM ports and your PC lacks COM ports, you need to use a USB to serial adapter. The supported adapters are Keyspan model USA-19HS or USA-49WG V1.0.
•For Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Cellular ensure the following:
oTCP port 10001 is used as the default and must be open for inbound and outbound traffic. You can specific a different port but you must change the configuration in Port Settings using the Advanced button.
•For DX3 Cloud Connect:
oYou need a Customer Account which will be setup for you by Rain Master Tech Support. You will be assigned a username and password which must be entered in Laguna's Central Options.
oYou must use a port configured as Cloud Connect in Port Settings.
Laguna uses SQL Server to maintain its data and logs. During Laguna installation, SQL Server Express is downloaded and installed which also installs Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 and 3.5. If your installation already contains a version of SQL Server, contact Rain Master Tech Support so that SQL server version and its database instance can be validated.
Refer to your sales representative for the latest about PC, Server and Operating System requirements to run Laguna. Laguna is best viewed and most productive when used with a wide screen high-definition monitor.
